    30th Annual Ranch Hand Rodeo Weekend (through March 3)

    The Winnemucca Ranch Hand Rodeo is the largest and most exciting in Nevada. Thirty-two teams compete for prizes in saddle bronc riding, steer stopping, wild mugging, trailer loading, team roping, ranch doctoring and team branding.     NIAA State Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments

    Las Vegas.

    All four classifications will hold their annual state tournaments Feb. 27-March 2 in Las Vegas. The 4A semifinal games will be held Feb. 28. The 3A games will all be held at The Orleans Hotel and Casino, including the championships on March 2. The 2A and 1A semifinal games will be at Henderson’s Eldorado High School and SLAM Academy, March 1, and the championships will be on Saturday at The Orleans.

    North Lake Tahoe Snowfest

    North Lake Tahoe, Feb. 28 – March 10

    North Lake Tahoe’s 37th annual Snowfest is a 10-day winter carnival with numerous events and activities celebrating the Lake Tahoe winter scene. The event celebrates life in the High Sierra and features parades, fireworks, a Polar Bear swim, an iditarod, Snow Queen, pancake breakfast and more. Website: http://tahoesnowfest.org

    Student Outreach Clinics from UNR

    Reno, March 2,  8 a.m. to noon. Family Medical Center, 17th and East Stadium Way

    The Women’s Clinic provides free women’s health exams such as Pap smears, breast exams, STD counseling, pregnancy tests and physical exams for both gynecological and non-gynecological concerns.
