Scouting’s Pinewood Derby is all grown up these days and now has added the Grand Prix of Scouting to its lineup of events. The Grand Prix of Scouting is for adults who never lost that itch for competition and speed!

Save the date of Friday, Sept. 21, for the Grand Prix of Scouting to race at the Peppermill Resort & Casino starting at 5:30 p.m.

Who is interested in race cars that you build yourself? Nothing stock here, every car will be a customized, one-of-a-kind racer built and painted for speed. Just think of the possibilities – sleek and slim, wild colors, company logos, custom wheels … you get it and each can do it themselves. This event is for anyone who likes cars, likes customized vehicles, loves games of chance (ka-chink), loves high-tech and especially the art of salesmanship. Lots of things to tinker with there for those who want to be close to cars.

All businesses are encouraged to form teams to compete. How about a grudge match against one of your business competitors – all in the spirit of having fun on a Friday night? Trophies will be awarded for First, Second and Third Place and Best of Show. You’ll have bragging rights for a whole year!

A variety of sponsorships are available and will include Pinewood Derby Car kits, Pit Passes, recognition at the event, lane ribbons, drink vouchers and hors d’oeuvres.

Interested? Registration deadline is September 10. For more information, visit Nevada BSA.org/GrandPrix, contact Britany.Wiele@scouting.org or call 775-787-1111.
