The Nevada Independent takes a look at the 30-year education career of Pat Skorkowsky, who is retiring as superintendent of the Clark County School District on June 29.
He spent his entire education career in Southern Nevada and his upcoming departure comes after leading the nation’s fifth-largest school district for five years — the end of which has been pockmarked by budget cuts, strife with school trustees and headaches associated with a massive, state-mandated reorganization plan.
