The Diocese of Reno celebrates its many volunteers from across Northern Nevada at an annual gathering.
For 2018, the Diocese marked its 17th Annual Diocesan Recognition Banquet on Friday, April 13, and honored 66 individuals, Catholic service groups and families for their service. The Diocese honored two families from Holy Cross Catholic Community in Spanish Springs.
The Higley Family and the Sanchez Family each were recognized by Bishop Randolph Calvo for their many acts of volunteerism to the parish. These families volunteer untold hours as they participate in their music and welcoming ministries – each as a family unit. Father Jose Issac joined Bishop Calvo to honor these families.
Also honored were Leo and Vangie Molino and Gloria Salcido of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sparks
The recognition banquet, the largest gathering to date, was held at Reno’s Atlantis Casino Resort.
