YERINGTON – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley launched its Buy-A-Tile campaign to raise $75,000 for fixtures, furniture and equipment for the new William N. Pennington Teen Center currently under construction and scheduled to open in late August or September.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley launched its Buy-A-Tile campaign to raise funds for furniture, fixtures and equipment for the William N. Pennington Teen Center slated to open in August or September of this year. The Club broke ground on the Center last November.
The wood tiles are available in 8-inch, 6-inch and 4-inch squares, ranging in price from $100 to $5,000. The tiles will be used to create a mosaic on an interior wall of the Teen Center and include the family or business name. Customization with a special message or honorarium is also available for an additional cost. The campaign runs from May 2 through the end of July.
Pam Peri, treasurer of the Club’s board of directors, said the Teen Center is not just a building, it’s a safe place for teens to grow and build strong roots.
“Help us to change the outcome of our children’s lives by supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley Teen Center,” Peri said. “All proceeds go directly to the Teen Center to help purchase furniture, program materials, and other necessities to keep the facility open and readily available to our tweens and teens.”
Travis Crowder, chief professional officer for the Club, said the money raised will be used to purchase computers and other electronics, bleachers, furniture, blinds and appliances.
“The tile campaign is a great way to be a part of the iconic Teen Center in Yerington from the ground up and is a fantastic way for families or organizations to own a lasting piece of a community treasure and help provide life-changing leadership development, literacy, health, arts and cultural programs to deserving teens in the community,” Crowder said.
