Fisher will conduct a Nevada poor ranking evaluation in first 90-days as governor

Since Jared Fisher announced his run for governor in May 2017, Nevada has been evaluated by more than four national organizations that monitor and assess the performance of key quality of life services, including education, affordable housing, mental health, health care, child services and others. In each of these categories, Nevada ranks either last or near the bottom. Fisher can’t understand why Nevada is incapable of identifying and solving these on-going failures before a national organization points them out in the press. He has a plan.

“In my first 90-days as Governor, any department that has received a poor ranking, or has been identified of any misuse of funds or major failures to the public will be asked to give me an internal assessment of their strategy for improvement,” said Fisher.  “If we cannot self-evaluate and solve the underperformance and or mismanagement of funds, we will never pull ourselves from the bottom.”

Fisher owns and operates a multimillion dollar cycling retail company and a multistate adventure tour company. He has been in business 26 years.

“If I ran my business like we run the State, I would have been out-of-business a long time ago,” added Fisher. “When I see an area where my company or employees are underperforming, or I see the slightest drop in customers satisfaction or sales, I fix it immediately. I don’t wait for some outside magazine or reporting firm to point out my company’s problems. I know my company, and I fix it.”

The First 90-Day Assessment Plan will be expanded to include all departments as part of Fisher’s SWEEP Program, Statewide Executive Efficiency Program.

Fisher added, “Business experience in government, and especially top leadership offices, is a benefit to both the office and Nevadans.”
