Grand Canyon Development Partners, a construction management and real estate development company with offices in both Reno and Las Vegas, is coordinating a pet supplies drive for the new Noah’s Animal House (NAH) in Reno. From now until April 30, Grand Canyon Development Partners, along with local business partners, will be collecting donations to benefit the pets of abuse victims. The pet shelter is part of the transitional campus of the Domestic Violence Resource Center (formerly CAAW) in Reno.

New and gently used items needed include dog and cat beds, cages, blankets, towels, water and food bowls, grooming supplies, fish tanks, other indoor pet supplies, and gift cards. Items can be dropped off at the following locations:

    • Victory Woodworks – 340 Kresge Lane, Sparks, NV 89431
    • Systems of Nevada, Inc. – 1220 East Greg Street, Suite #4, Sparks, NV 89431
    • Robison Engineering Company, Inc. – 846 Victorian Avenue, Suite 20, Sparks, NV 89431
    • Great Basin Brewery Co. – 846 Victorian Avenue, first floor, Sparks, NV 89431

Before expanding to the Reno area, NAH Las Vegas has helped more than 1,400 pets stay connected with their families by providing nearly 90,000 nights of safe boarding. Threats against family pets are often part of domestic violence, and many victims will not leave their abuser because they do not want to leave their pet behind.

The 1,300 square-foot building in Reno can accommodate up to 36 animals and features a “Wags & Whiskers” arrival room including a family boarding and exam room. The facility features “Wags Boarding” indoor/outdoor dog runs and kennels; the “Feline Sun Room” for cats with multi-use condos; two cuddle rooms offering private time with family members; a dog bathing/spa area; and an outside play area.
